Do I need a complete overhaul?

Hello,

Im looking to get some better performance out of my PC when playing games such as X3 and BF2.

My current setup is:

A64 3000+ (1.8Ghz)
Asus A8V Deluxe
1Gb Dual Channel PC3200 DDR
Nvidia Geforce 6800GT AGP (OC'd to Ultra speeds)

Now the question is... should I upgrade the graphics card (which will probably have to include a new mobo as my current one only has AGP and all the new cards seem to be PCI-E)

If I have to get a new mobo tho, should I just bite the bullet upgrade the CPU and RAM at the same time?

If I just get another socket 939 mobo and transfer my current CPU and ram will I still be limited by the CPU no matter what Graphics card I get?

Any advice??

The CPU will probably become a big bottleneck if you were to buy a newer graphics card.

Personally if I were in your situation I would save a bit of money and get a whole new rig. You can get very capable conroe rigs for about 500 quid.
