i'm adding a couple of fans to the top of my case (see sig).

and this

i already have the same green one occupying the front drive bays, but if i connect it via molex its a bit noisey(i assume this is cause it runs at full whack?) so its currently hooked into sys 2 fan header on motherboard. the extra 2 will have to be connected to molex adapters, so i guess i need to get a fan controller to go with them so i can turn down the speed a bit to keep them quiet. if this is the case can any1 point me in the direction of a decent cheapish controller. or perhaps spec me quieter fans, need to be the same colour scheme.

thanks in advance

Whats your budget for a fan controler?

not really sure, say 20 quid?

you can always 7v mod the fans.

if you take the 4 pin molex male end on the fan and remove the ground pin (black wire) and push it back into pin 4 on the opposite end of the positive wire in pin 1 the fans will be a lot quieter

Worked a treat on a san ace that was loud as hell

how does that work, what is changing the wiring actually doing? sorry just curious. tho there's be a good chance i'd manage to make summat go boom lol

I would say do the cable mod. Saves some money and you can change it back.

i would do, tho is there any possibilty that doing summat wrong would result in fire or possibly death?? lol

cause believe me if it's possibly to do something wrong then you can be guaranteed that i'm your man :p

after a few searches/reads, just wondering would modding the fans to run on 7v have much of a negative effect of the brightness of the fans leds?
