Do I need a landline for broadband?

I don't use the landline to make phone calls but still I am paying about £13 p/m and on top of that about £20 for broadband, do I need to have landline connected at all, its a bit of a waste of money?

Unfortunately so. If you really don't use it at all, then BT might be able to do some low user rebate. Don't quote me on that, knew of an elderly relative who used to get it before the days of broadband

You can get some ISP's that actually offer free line rental, like tiscali... have a search around for the best deals that include phone line rental.

I am on £19.99 package which includes line rental and all free calls 24/7

I am sure they do a cheaper deal though.

If you're talking about ADSL broadband, yes. If you're talking about cable broadband, no.

Elderly being the operative word here. Low user rebate used to be available to all but was changed to elderly-only some years ago.
