I bought a new Bluray today called Let Me In it was only £9. :) All other Blurays I've watch through my PS3 I've gotten 5.1 surround just fine. I only seem to get Stereo in this movie. I'm wondering if it's due to the audio being in Dolby True HD 5: 1 surround. My AV is a Sony STR DH500 on the front it say HDMI, R.D.S, DTS, Dolby Digital Pro Logic II, and Digital Cinema Sound. My PS3 sends audio to my AV through optical input.

I think your amp should be ok with that after a quick google. In the audio options for your ps3, is it set to full bitstream? I had to change this setting on mine to get 5.1 over HDMI to my amp, not sure if it will make any difference for you.

This is it exactly. All HD audio formats, as part of the Blu-ray specification, include the original 5.1 DD/DTS (depending) stream embedded within the HD stream. Your player then picks up which one to stream to the amp, but to make it do so, you need to set your player to Bitstream output.
