Do I need a new cable for dual monitors?

Sorry to make a whole thread for this question!

I've just upgraded most of my PC on which I previously used dual monitors (HDMI and DVI I believe it was). Now my new GPU doesn't have a DVI port on it, it has displayports and Windows 10 (which is also new) doesn't detect a second monitor.

Just looking to confirm that I'll need a HDMI to displayport cable to get this second monitor to show up?

You can go from DP to HDMI on the monitor yes. I believe there are issues going HDMI to DP on the monitor though.

Apparently so I've read in the item descriptions on Amazon. I'll get one and try it, it's not a touch monitor or anything so should work I imagine.
