Do I need a new clutch?

Hi,

When I set off up hills or in 2nd at junctions the clutch (i think its the clutch) makes a sqweaking noise untill I bring the pedal up fully. Car is a 1.6 focus with 75k on the clock.

If your clutch was going when you change gear the revs would increase and you wouldnt go anywhere quickly; known as clutch slipping.

Doesnt sound like the clutch to be honest.

Yeh it sets off fine just sqweaks

Sounds like release (aka thrust) bearing. Quite expensive on the Focus as it's part of the coaxial slave cylinder.

Is it likely to fail completely any time soon or get worse?

Well it won't get any better, may last a while before expiring. May last 5 minutes, would just wait and see how it goes for a bit.
