i am thinking of upgradeing my system soon to a

p35(thing ill go for the asus p5k deluxe wifi)
c2d e6600
ocz 2gb pc2-8500(might buy 2 of these to have 4gb)

i will be keeping the 8800gtx i have in my current system

what i want to know is that i have a Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B in my current setup. is this enought to cool the e6600 under a small OC or will i need a better cooler

Yes, the Scythe Ninja will do just fine cooling an E6600. Also, if your going for 4GB memory, then you'd be best off buying a 2x2GB set rather than using 4x1GB. It's meant to offer better performance and is significantly cheaper.

I had a ninja on my e6600 up to 3.2ghz and it was fine. It's a great cooler and certainly isn't far off the current crop of 'top end' C2D coolers.

You'll be totally fine IMO. :)

Also agree with the 2x2gb ram suggestion from Alex UK.

The 8500 is far too fast for the e6600 anyway. I made the mistake of getting some as it looked cool. Don't get me wrong though... it's great memory and i fully recommend OCZ.

However, if you were running 1:1 between memory and C2D your e6600 would be running at 4.8ghz which is rather fast!

Some PC6400 would be fine. That would give you 3.6ghz 1:1 which is closer to what you'd want while saving you a little cash!

THIS, THIS or THIS would be fine.
