Do I need a new gfx card for BF BC2?

My PC is pretty much identical to yours bar the motherboard and BC2 Beta ran just fine for me at 1680x1050 with most stuff turned up and 2xAA.

Nobody really knows until the full release drops at a guess I think everyone this side of a 5850 wont be maxing it out.
Need to remember that High settings on the beta was in fact medium details.

High isn't much of an improvement over medium they say, and the beta was poorly optimised so it's nothing to go by in terms of playability.

1 of the major things that effected frame rates was the HBAO option, which they've already said in retail they've changed, so the filter doesn't kill frame rate quite so much, a lot of frame rate issues could be down to your CPU more than that graphics card, but since you also have a quad at a semi-decent clock, there should be no problems running it almost maxed.

Wasn't able to play the demo. just couldn't seem to get a copy anywhere so kind of unaware of the textures issue.

I know its an impossible Q to fully answer but just getting excited since I am BF2 and 2142 vet and those games took up many many hours & amongst the most enjoyable for me.

SO, stick with what I have then?

Easiest option - stick with what you have and buy the game. If it runs to your satisfaction, awesome. If not, buy a new graphics card in 2 weeks time :p

Well I'm playing on an 8800 GTX still, and I will most likely be able to run it high with DX10 and a small amount of AA.

You should be fine with what you have.
