Do i need a soundcard?

I recently bought some Aego M speakers, and i am using onboard sound (ASUS P5B). Since they are 2.1 speakers do i really need a soundcard? thanks

Thanks for the help, and Jaffa_cake, i knew that i did not have to have a soundcard, i am not that much of a noob heh

The reason i am thinking of getting a soundcard is that i have recently built a new PC and it is decent (i think) so i thought i would buy a soundcard. however i may just buy a new keyboard and mouse, because i am still using my the ones from my previous PC.
