Do I need a soundcard?

I've just realised that after many years of having a Soundblaster Z card in my PC absolutely nothing has ever been connected to it.

My PC is plugged into my TV via HDMI and my TV plugs into a soundbar via eARC HDMI and I just use that for my PC sound.

So is there any point at all in having the Soundblaster plugged in?

Based on your current audio setup, the soundcard is doing nothing at all so it could be removed. By using HDMI you are completely bypassing the soundcard
