Do I Need Another Fan

Hi,

In my PC I only have the following fans:

1 x 120mm intake fan on front of the case
1 x 120mm Be Quiet! SR1 Pro CPU Cooler fan (intake)
1 x 120mm outake fan on back of the case

And I have a fan on my ATI HD 7870 and Corsair GS600 PSU.

I don't have any problems with overheating or anything. The most I ever get is if I am gaming on High settings then sometimes my PSU fan will spin up for a second or two then stop.

I was going to buy another 120mm fan for front intake so I have dual fans mainly to stop the PSU from having to come on (I don't want it constantly taking hot air into the PSU and shooting out the back).

Is this worth buying or will it not make much point unless I buy more than one.

Thanks

in honest opinion it would be very pointless, if the only reason is to stop the PSU fan to come on, I wouldn't waste the money.

you have to remember (got this psu 800watt version) the PSU is built to be silent when it can, and for the fan to only come on when it gets hot enough. the air inside your as especially at the bottom will be cool and have a very slow natural flow.

the reason the psu fan kicks in is due to the fact no fan in the psu is moving meaning the air is slowly if not sitting there in the psu until it gets hot enough that the fan will blow it out and replace it with "fresher" air.

adding a extra fan wont help this situation as it is how the PSU is designed to work, it would only prolong the time until the fan turns on for a couple of seconds to change the air and cool the psu back down

Yeah I was told about that before but I prefer it facing up and even if it drew fresh air its not making it into the case anyway.

This is mainly to see if I can stop the PSU from coming on which I am assuming is when the case gets a little hot inside.
