Do i need better memory to OC

Which memory is best for my usage?

Im planning on a ds3p board with a c2d E4300. Hopefully clocking to 3ghz+

With this in mind, which of the following memory would be best for my needs.

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 PK PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS 4-4-4-12 Timings, 1.9-2.1v £75

If you run the 2:1 memory divider then the E4300 will need RAM capable of running 667MHz at 3GHz (CPU@333MHZ) so in theory any PC5300 RAM will suffice.

As your E4300 is highly unlikely to hit more than 380FSB then PC8500 RAM would allow you to run 3.4GHz with the 3:2 memory divider and PC8000 RAM would let you run the 5:4 divider.

PC6400 RAM really gives you no great benefit over PC5300 in this situation so my reommendation would be to buy the Crucial PC5300 kit as it will run the high speed and the tight timings and you get Crucial's 48-hour turnaround RMA service as well if you need it.

In terms value for money, does the Crucial win over the Geil and Corsair?
