Tried to install new ATI drivers for 9600. I picked the latest with the CCC but it failed to load the CCC because of the NET2 issue.
Anyway I got a prompt about MOM.exe and when I googled it there were some entries about it being spyware and that one guy felt it was responsible for a credit card fraud. Because of that - and my ignorance - I uninstalled the CCC.
This morning I deleted all drivers from the system and registry (I think) and installed the 7.1 drivers (not the 7.2which were mentioned in the same google post)
Everything works OK but I only have monitor management from the SW that came with the monitor.
Am I mising anything by not having the CCC. Can I get a standalone Control Pane. If I installed 2005 drivers with CP over the top would the latest drivers remain in use and now I would have CP. Or should I just do without CP / CCC.
Thanks in anticipation.

When I googled, there seemed 2 of them. ATI tools and Tray tools. The one above appears mainly for overclocking. I that correct. Would the tray tools suit me better?
