Do i need thermal paste for H50?

I am setting up my corsair H50. I am at the bit where i attatch the cold plate/pump to the socket over the CPU. do i need to apply MX2 thermal compound between the CPU and the cold plate or not?

i believe it comes with TIM on the block already. If so then clean it off and apply your own if you want.

I didn't realise it came with stuff on, and I'm really not keen on cleaning it off and applying my sexy MX3, so I just stuck with the factory stuff, and get pretty good temps
