I am going to be building a new PC hopefully on Friday, Do I need to buy thermal paste?

Hi, if your new build includes a new CPU it might come with thermal paste already applied or you are just transfering one to the new mobo you will need a tube of thermal paste. Either way a tube of thermal paste never comes in wrong as you might have to reseat the CPU for some reason!

Don't spend more than £2 for it.
Why? a lot of good thermal pastes are around £5-£8 for a 3.5g syringe... and if your going to spend no more than £2 it's probably just some rebranded toothpaste. (With the exception of the 1g options of course)
There are various options mate, and yes you do need thermal paste if you don't have any. And I would go for something like a 3.5g tube so you have enough to re apply it more than once if you ever need to

They are some I have heard good things about and I am running the Arctic Silver 5 now

Thanks guys, my CPU,Heat Sink and Motherboard are all brand new.
I'll have to buy some thermal paste in a shop as my final PC components are been shipped right now.

On the bottom of your CPU cooler there should be a shiny metallic surface. If there is a square of grey/white ish colour its got the paste pre-applied
