hi,

having probs with game lockups, contacted BFG got a fast reply mainly concerning rails and volt and amps from psu.
i replyed and got no reply yet!

looked in bios and there option to add 0.01 / 02 /03v (pcie overvoltage) to pcie slot
and a pcie frequencies, ,, both currently set at defaults.

just thinking is it common to boost any of these on the 8600gt series?

C2D e2160
win xp
gigabyte ga 965p ds3 (default settings)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz
BFG 8600 gt oc
corsair 520w
160g seagate 7200 ide.

thanks

iv been gettin this entry log error after the nv4 disp is not working properly error

The driver nv4_disp for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

some answers on the net are: can be caused by power drop or lack of power.

it seems bfg support is thinking that 2, i sent them full spec of the corsair 520 inc the active power using pc wizard.

im really hopeing card is not faulty :(

cheers lay-z

just got a reply from bfg,

""I would recommend checking the +12v in your BIOS. 13.59 is very high for what you want.""

pointed out something with volts from pc wizard test.

+3.3v = 190v
+5 v = 4.85v
+12v = 13.59

now problem is , on my board is just says (( +12v --- OK )
non-change option. cant actulay see what voltage is being used in bios either,,

anyone know what i need to do ,, im getting confused ,, tho thats not hard to do :p

Go out and buy a cheapo £3.50 multimeter, shove it in the ground and 12v line and see what it says.

Mainboard voltage monitoring is notoriously crap.

lol, i just tryed a few tools after you said that, everyone gives a differnt reading, dont get why sandra and nxsensor just says 2.2v and 1.6v for the +12v
looks like a trip to the shops for a multimeter

thanks again lay-z
