I got my new components mobo, cpu and ram. Just wondering if I need to a fresh OS install or i can just plug my HDD which already has windows 7?

Always best to go with a fresh install to avoid any conflicts with old drivers etc. Make sure to back up any programs, games etc

For me I would always do a fresh install, even if the mobo was from the maker.
You could end up with driver problems.

Build it up and test it and see what happens

If your old PC is still working, go in to device manager and program&features, then delete or uninstall everything to do with the motherboard.

I didn't install the mobo's software though so I wouldn't know what to delete. my old mobo was Asus P7P55D-E PRO.

I tried to old up my old Windows 7 and it give me BSOD.

Is there still a trial for Windows 8? mind sending me the link please.

Edit: Anyone still sticking with Windows 7?

windows 7/8 usually sorts out the needed drivers for you ect
