do i need to put both bridges on for crossfire?

I have to slots on my 4870's for crossfire, now i only have 2 do i need to use both bridges or just the one? i assumed the extra were for tri/quad setups?

If it works like nVidia SLi, then that's correct. The GPU's have the extra slots so you can run more than 2... SO only the 1 bridge will be required.

You wouldn't need to do that with SLi, so I think he's wasted a bridge there... As I can't see why CrossFire would be any different. I wish my ASUS board (like his in the pic) had the PCI-E slots that spaced out. My GTX 280's are stuck togther!

Looks like 1 bridge for normal crossfire is fine.
