I bought a freezer 64 from here about 4-5 months ago when it was on special offer but never put it on because basically i'm lazy! I found it up this morning and was wondering whether or not to bother yet. I currently have a X2 3800 running at 2450mhz with 1.42v at 39c Idol and 48c gaming load/58c heavy rendering load off the stock heatsink. Bearing in mind I find it quite a hassle to usually mount these things would i be able to clock the x2 much more or notice a noise reduction that would be worth while?

Cheers

It'll certainly be quieter and i imagine you'll see a few degrees drop in temperatures. Just do it, you've got nothing to lose by doing it.

You should go for it, but don't forget to clean the thermal paste off the cpu before you seat the new cooler.

It will take 20 minutes maximum overall to do.
I know for one it wont be any worse than your current cooler (if you are using stock amd one that is) so as people have said, you have nothing to loose
