Hey

Put together my Ryzen 3700x system a couple of days ago and I am wondering if my current temps and voltages are in line with the norm.

Using Core Temp and CPU-Z I noticed that:
  • CPU voltage is almost always 1.4V, sometimes 0.9V
  • Idle temps range from 28 to 45 degrees, depending on recent and current activity
  • Download and gaming temps of around 50 to 69 degrees
Also, opening any application like steam or photoshop seems to briefly spike temps, CPU speed, and all fan speeds.

I also performed a CPU only stress test using AIDA64. Under full load for a few minutes temps never passed 55 surprisingly. Shot up to 60 degrees once I opened photoshop.

Using the current system:
  • Ryzen 3700x
  • X570 Aorus Elite Motherboard
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB 3600Mhz RAM
  • Arctic Freezer 34 Duo Cooler
My motherboard chip-set is up to date and I am running the Ryzen Balanced power plan.

Only modifications to BIOS is XMP profile being active to achieve RAM speed.

You can double check voltage and temps using ryzen master
I found using core temp same thing the voltage and clock speed rarely dropped
I think perhaps core temp queries the cpu too often leading to a cause and effect situation

Thanks for the reply dude.

I actually used to have Ryzen Master installed but it seemed to always push the system a bit when active, like you suggest. With it running in the background voltages never dropped from 1.4V and temps fluctuated constantly.
I am probably just a pit paranoid because of how much I am monitoring it but its certainly running cooler than my last system.

Thanks again.

Only just got a 3900x myself so yes it's lot different than what I was used to with Intel cpus
But whichever you use to monitor try to only use 1 tool at a time
Didn't see anything in your post worrying any way pretty consistent with sort of stuff my new ryzen doing I would say

As others have said, temps are good.

Not sure about this, but I don't think the Ryzen 3000 CPUs have any officially listed maximum temperatures. Previous generations had their SKU specific temperature limits posted under the specification section of their product page:
2600X
Max Temps: 95°C
https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-5-2600x
2700x
Max Temps: 85°C

2990WX

Ryzen 3000 CPUs have no "Max Temps" listed under specifications:
