Hi there, please can you offer any advice?

I bought an RTX 2080 from Overclockers UK 7 months ago and ever since it doesn't detect my monitor when I turn on the PC. It says "no signal detected" when connected via display port.

So each time I turn my PC on I have to bend down under my desk, unplug my monitor power plug and then plug it back in, and then suddenly the graphics card detects it and everything works fine.

I have windows 10 latest update, and I have installed all latest nvidia drivers from May to December.

I searched online and I see on nvidia forums others having same issues on RTX cards.

I called Overclockers technical support today, they told me to try do a clean install of my GPU drivers first which I did but it's made no difference.

My exact GPU name is: "Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 Gaming OC 8192MB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card" £700.

Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem, with a 2070S, the issue was that the card wasn't properly seated at the output end, and there's not a lot of leverage to make sure it is home the way it should be. Took ages to get it in properly, and for the world you'd have thought it was correctly seated.

I've tried that mate and it still didn't make a difference. Thanks anyways.

Have you tried the driver from that reddit post?

That driver won't install on the latest version of windows mate.

Sorry for late reply guys, I've tried a lot of things this week but the weird thing is, it seems to do exactly the same when I take the PC out of the picture completly because I plugged in my PS4 and I still have to unplug the monitor power cable and plug it back in each time in order for it to output the picture so do you think it's the monitor? And if so what could be causing this?

I'm typing this to you now from my BENQ monitor. It works perfectly all the time, I only have this problem each time I turn the PC on.

The monitor is called BENQ XR3501 and it's an ultrawide 35" Cruved 144hz monitor that cost me £600 from Overclockers about 4 years ago.

I've tried differant refresh rates, I've also tried setting displayport to 1.1 from 1.2 in my monitor settings as I saw someone mention that as a possible fix elsewhere.

Do you guys think my monitor power wire could be broken or the monitor has a problem?

Does your BENQ work using HDMI? I'm gessing it doesn't because you tried it with your PS4.

So if it does it with two different cables and from two different sources then it must be the monitor. Do you know anyone with a display port monitor to make sure?

Yeah that's right mate, PS4 and PC produce the same outcome no matter if I use HDMI or displayport. This is so weird.

But the monitor works fine otherwise. I'm using it now. But obviously this is gutting because I would like to keep this monitor another 5+ years.

It could it be the monitor software? Can we update monitors? And is there any other settings in my monitor which I could change?

What does HDMI switch or displayport switch do? should I disable or enable both of them?

My benq throws a wobbly anytime you connect / disconnect something to it model 2765 or something like that has always done it from new
Not quite same as you once I get it to go it stays going unless you disconnect / connect a cable and it does it again
Like you got to unplug. Power off etc but I have to do it a few times until it works
Though last time it did it what I tried was when it said no signal
I used the buttons to manually select the input before it had time to go back into stand by
That worked have you tried that?
Still a nuisance but less so than power off unplug etc was

I just changed the PSU for the same monitor my brother has been using for a couple of years. Exactly the same symptoms and swapping a laptop PSU of a similar type (19V 60/90A I think) fixed it instantly.
