I am planning to buy a new 980ti Hydro in the next month for 4k gaming , I currently have 2500k factory clock , should I get a water cooler and OC it or upgrade ?

Please advise . Thanks Guys. ;)

Still say no one GPU is enough for 4k but either way I think you'll be perfectly fine running with a 2500k supporting a 980ti , as higher the res the less dependant on the CPU it becomes, either go Air or go for a decent 240mm AIO , and overclock away ... Should do that regardless ;)

I can confirm games run perfectly fine at 4K with a single 980Ti. You might have to dial back some post processing and in demanding games maybe knock the detail down to high, but the extra pixels more than make up for any settings being turned down.

I would stick with 1440p until the time 4k is running at 120+ hertz and 1ms.

I would too. But if someone doesn't mind 60hz then I'd recommend 4K all day long. The resolution, oh the resolution!! Such a big step up from QHD.

Just as a side note, why do some people refer to resolutions as the vertical pixels with P ?

When was the last time you used an interlaced signal on a PC?

I'd say get 1440p. To me anyway 4k isn't a massive jump from 1440p. And I'd take 1440p 144hz over 4k 60fps any day.

Will a gtx 980Ti run 4k at 60fps, it will struggle put it that way especially on demanding games. You would need to push the settings back or you will be dropping frames regularly. The witcher 3 maxed out I can get a stable 120fps on 1440p with 2 cards (minus hair works). 4k 60fps with 1 card no chance unless all the settings are on low.

Check out sloppywetblow on YouTube he does very accurate benchmarks of major games many settings.
