I have just purchased a new monitor, a Dell UP2516D, 2560x1440 QHD.
My current GFX card is an AMD radeon HD7950, the MSI twin frozr version.
Is this card enough for general computer use?
I dont game much all nowadays so i just need to know if it will do for everyday tasks.
Thanks.

Just a quick thought. How good is my card for 1080p gaming? i havent gamed for a few years now but i used to only play racing sims at high/max settings (project cars, F1.). If i wanted to do that again, would the card still cut the mustard @1080p.
Thanks again

Yeah, it will be more than enough. In fact, for just general use and light gaming, you could probably live with something lower down the scale if you wanted to.

For 1080p, it sits at the lower end of mid-range performance (still very capable). I expect it will even handle some games at very high quality, but if not, I should think at least medium detail will be easily attainable. They also have a very healthy amount of overclocking headroom, so that's something to bear in mind should you require a bit more 'ooomph!' for some titles.

Thank you for the reply. I will probably go the over clocking route to increase performance should I need to. The card is water cooled as is the CPU so i'm sure I could get some more oomph out of it.
