Any second opinions here on my current system, is there something that I could upgrade to achieve better performance in gaming with what I already have or do you think a complete overhaul is worth it at this point. I do lots of work in 3ds max, various game editors that are system hogs, and enjoy playing games full settings.

Corsair XMS3 8GB (4x4GB) (bought 2011)
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 (bought 2011)
MSI P67A-GD53 Intel P67 (bought 2011)
MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III OC V2 3072MB GDDR5 (bought 2013)
Corsair 650w PSU (bought 2011)

I'd say you're fine, it depends what games you play.
I mean, you could pop an SSD in there to speed it up, they make a massive difference. Overclock the CPU. And maybe another graphics card. If you want to max out the latest titles that is.

If you do a lot of coding, editing, may be worth looking at going i7.

And if you're planning to game at a higher resolution than 1080p then I'd get a better GPU but apart from that your specs look great :)

Edit - could add an SSD if you don't already have one, makes the whole experience much snappier.

This, chuck a SSD in there to start, it will feel like a new machine.

Overclock your CPU, buy a new SSD and GPU and you should be set. Your gaming performance will be affected most by getting a new GPU, but I'd personally wait till the 300 series launch before buying one. The 7950 isn't exactly a slow GPU though.
