Do I need to use PTFE tape with barbs that have an O ring?

As header really.

Going to try and put all my new watercooling bits together at the weekend, but I'm unsure whether I need to use PTFE tape at all on my barbs that use an O ring.

Is it better to besafe than sorry? Or a little overkill?

No need the first time as the orings are 100% but check them if you re-install them to make sure and apply ptfe then if needed. Also hand tight works a charm with the orings

I always use PTFE even with O rings, iam not saying they are not water tight but if you install hand tight and get a good tight fitting tube as you twist and bend the tube you may undo the hand tight fitting and might get a weep in your case which could lead to disaster!!!

if you feel happy doing overkill then do it, better to be safe than sorry!
