Talk to him about it, if he's such a top bloke it's odd that something wasn't put together sooner.

He's in a self-induced coma, right? "If you agree, just stay really still and dribble a bit" won't really cut it with the other guys at work, I suspect.

What? :confused:

His top gaffer as he said is a "top bloke" so if he's such a top bloke, organising something for this other guy that's off because of the heart attack shouldn't be a problem, if he's such a top bloke something should have being done earlier?

I actually have no idea what you were on about?

Maybe it's the way i wrote it but i think it makes sense. When i say top gaffer i'm talking about my manager that's in the coma .

Each of the 3 shifts at work have had a briefing from the top gaffer telling us this and that they are having a collection for him (£450 raised so far.)

So the 'top gaffer' has organised a collection for himself, while he's in a coma :confused:

Remind him of this other bloke and suggest that there should be another collection. There is no harm in suggesting.

Gaffer = Manager.
Top Gaffer = Big Boss (Top Manager).
Top Bloke = Nice work friend who had heart attack.
Manager = In a coma.

Not hard.

OCUK has confused the OP into contradicting himself in a later post.

What ? :confused:

I thought the guys manager / top gaffer were different people?

Make things clearer OP.

Did you make a post about going back into education recently...you need it :p

Manager that is in a coma is a top guy. Another member of staff is off work with a heart attack. Higher management have had a collection for the coma manager but did nothing for the heart attack guy. He thinks this is unfair and is considering approaching higher management about this.

That is what one would naturally assume. But

Again, this is just confusing, especially when you now read the OP.

Although it seems unfair, someone's got to suggest the idea and do homework. Obviously no one dead with you member.
Maybe suggest a joint collection? Or ask if you can run a separate collection or just do it.

No...
Manager that is in a coma is a top guy. Another member of staff is off work with a heart attack (this guy is also a top guy). Higher management have had a collection for the coma manager (the less top top guy) but did nothing for the heart attack guy (the more top top guy). He thinks this is unfair and is considering approaching higher management about this.
