Im looking for a decent overclocking mobo for the 2500K and initially I was almost sold for the ASrock Extreme4 Gen3 Z68.

(build two SB system for friends already, one with Z68 Extr4 Gen2, other with ASUS P8P67 LE for a much cheaper build).

Now its time to do my own one and I still dont know if I should go with the Z68 or P67.

I dont do video encoding, I do 3d modelling and gaming mainly so this is it.
Got a nice ssd for the system so no need for a Z68 caching etc...

All I need is a nice and stable 4.6-4.8GHz (chip permitting) o/c for a daily usage...

I thought the only reason you'd buy a Z68 board is for the SSD caching and the ability to use the onboard graphics.

Since you don't need either of those then you'd be fine with a P67 board.

That said, I ordered a Asus P8P67 PRO yesterday and noticed that OcUK had the Asus P8Z68-V on this week only at the same price so I swapped.

The onboard graphics can come in really handy if you have problems with your system and want to rule out the video card, so I'd say it's worth a Z68 for that alone (unless you have a spare video card that you keep for this purpose).

Point taken on the internal gfx as a backup...

Do you know if you can still cache a HDD that hasnt got the system on it?
