Guys,

A while a go I used to have a pci tv card which allowed me ( I think through 'aerial in') to record video from my vcr to my pc as an .mp4 or whatever, I was then able to convert said file to dvd :)

I've got a couple vhs vids that I want to get onto dvd and I need to repeat the same task - do I need to get another tv card, or is there anything I can do through my graphics card (4870)? And if so, how :p

Cheers,

SW.

i had a pinacle thingy which pluged into usb and had component video and audio input to record anything! Dont think gfx card can do anything like that

some TV cards have a component or s vhs input this would do the trick

they used to have them on some video cards vivo and all in wonder but this seems to have stopped lately most cards just come with video out ports these days

Thanks guys - I've been having a look around and it seems one of those little usb video adaptors is the way to go :)

I didn't really want to spend a load of money (and lose a pci slot) on a new tv card that would be rarely used. The usb adaptors go for about £20, and seem very well supported.

Cheers,

SW.
