Hey,

Ive had this monitor for quite a while now.

Am i going to see a marked improvement upgrading to a 27" Monitor.

Ill be using for gaming and media tasks/browsing.

any recommendations please

I'd wait if you can and see how the Asus ROG Swift turns out, it seems to be the "next big thing" people are waiting for and would be a worthwhile upgrade, 2560x1440, 120hz, gsync, ulmb, etc etc.

I had 2 Nec 24wmgx3's , I now have 2 Asus pb278q's, they are excellent, dont go TN what ever you do.

Asus ROG Swift is a TN panel, coming from the quality IPS panel of the NEC might leave you a bit disappointed.

The NEC uses an 8-bit AMVA panel, so he's not using IPS?

The Swift uses a custom 8 bit TN panel as opposed to the 6bit panels used in all the current gaming screens, meaning 16.7 million colours as opposed to 262000 colours with dithering, apparently comparable to e-ips.

I owned a Hazro 27" ips monitor and it sat gathering a layer of dust once i'd used 120hz.

Been thinking the same. Mines got a red stuck pixel right in the centre and suffers from image retention. Been hovering over 2 Dell 27" for a while now.
to replace my NEC and samsung

Watching this with interest as I have the NEC as well. So many of the possible replacements get ruled out for me as the vertical resolution is only 1080 compared to the 1200 on the NEC. I am coding quite a lot - and its vertical rather than horizontal I'm interested in.

Desk space is a bit tight, so using two monitors in portrait mode would be pushing it and 4K is a jump too far in terms of cost (2 cards etc).

Thanks for the reply guys.

I am going to wait a while and consider more options. Ill see how the Asus ROG performs.
