Hi Guys and Girls,
So I have my trusty 9year old pc that is still performing admirably I7 2600K, 16GB ram and a pair of SSD's with a 260 graphics card.......

I am looking at moving to the next PC and wanted to get some opnions on waiting for the new ZEN2 processors rumored for early summer or taking the plunge and going for the R7 2700x with a 370/470 Board.

I am thinking of returning to the AMD world from Intel as I have only heard good things about the Ryzen 7

I dont have the money to change the graphics card nor do I feel the need to do this as I have not had any issues using the current one for the things I do....

Please wade in and give me some advice / opnion / critisim ect ect ect...

Thanks in advance for any and all replys

my advice would be, if you can wait, then wait. of course with pc's there's always 'something' just round the corner but in your case i would wait and see what the next iteration of Ryzen brings to the table. it may well really shake the market up if it's anywhere near as capable as the rumours are suggesting.
worst case it doesn't live up to the hype and you go with a 2700x anyway. best case, it smashes the market and forces intel into sorting their nonsense pricing and the rest of the market falls into line price wise. you may even see a drop in price of current gen ryzen.

edit: for reference i am looking to upgrade my Ryzen 1600 and a 2700 was going to be possibly my next cpu but i'm going to wait and see what the next gen of ryzen brings to the table.

2600k are still surprisingly good. OC it a bit for a speed boost if you haven't and want that upgrade feel while you wait :)

If you have the itch to play at the moment and you don't already - I would suggest getting a really nice cooler, perhaps an AIO - you can then play with clocking your current chip while you wait for Zen2... otherwise - yeah what everyone else said :)

Unless money is no object, it really is worth waiting for Ryzen 3XXX since if all of the information that’s out there is even close to being true then the IPC and frequency gains should give it parity with the 9900K at a lower price point as well as lower platform cost.
