Hi there, im wanting to buy a 4850 for my upgrade, no Nvidia crap atm, but i want to know, do the various makes come with or without anything, as im an asus lover, just the name sounds ace...lol....and there shiney, but hey ho, do makes matter in GFX cards?

Just get the cheapest 4850 but keep an eye out for versions with an improved cooler. They would be worth paying extra for

Sometimes there might be discrepencies between revisions and overclocks. But generally if they're the same then aftermarket coolers, warrenties, "free" crap usually determine the price.

what 'free' guff do they all come with?

Very little over here. HIS comes with a screwdriver with torch. That's it.
No games and even the usb stick which (i can't remeber who) was meant to come with the card only applies to the US.

If buying nvidia get BFG > the rma is in wales and not 5000 miles away like most + a 10 year warranty.

If buying ati take the cheapest apart from powercolor or gecube.

I disagree. Ive had a couple of Powercolor cards and never a problem with cards or their service, still running an X850XT in an old rig. And Gecube are a subsiduary of Gigabyte, so all good there too.

To the OP, this is the 4850 card to get imo...

Gainward ATI Radeon HD 4850 (great price)
