Mulling over buying this on steam, only thing putting meof is the game for ut2k4 had about 200 players at most, the steam version any better for good servers with large player numbers?
there are are plenty of people playing, not huge amounts but enough to fill the top 10-20 servers and half fill plenty others.
you wont have any trouble finding a game if thats what you are worried about.
i bought it the other day, still getting into it though, i find myself very disorientated at times not sure who the enemy is , need to get to know the maps better, accidentally found myself smack bang in the middle of the enemy earlier, i totally pooped myself before swiftly being dispossed of by an equally suprised enemy.
This is much more of sim orientated fps you need to know what colour uniforms your comraids have etc once you get used to it it makes it feel more real
I still play it fairly regularly.
Its quite good fun to alternate it with DoD:Source as they offer very different experiences. RO is slower paced with more gritty realism, where DoD is fast (seems insanely fast after playing RO for a while) and frenetic.
