It seems my MSI 870-G54 does not have inbuild wifi since when i check my availeble connections there was only one ethernet connection.

some of the high end models have inbuild bluetooth and wifi, but personally i think they are gimmicks to justify the price tag...

EDIT: i just checked yours, it doesnt have wifi.

its pretty weird i mean £200 netbooks come with wifi but a brand new gaming pc worth £700+ doesnt

Yea, but netbooks are mobile and pretty much require wifi to function.

In contrast gaming PCs are generally very much stationary and you don't really want to be gaming over wifi (unless you absolutely have to), you should be using Gigabit ethernet or at the very least - powerline.

If it's that much of an issue there's PCIe cards that do the WiFi for you (if you're that opposed to a USB wifi stick).

I've only seen built in Wifi on a few ITX boards, I can understand that as they're small and will perhaps be sometimes moved around a bit.

But yes as the others have said, since desktops are stationary they don't need wifi, as a more stable wired connection is prefered.
