Do new drives have to be formatted in truenas?

I've had a 2 bay synology for a while but now I'm thinking of using an old HPz600 with a few new drives to set up truenas and then hopefully adding my 2 drives full of stuff from the synology... Is this possible?

truenas uses the ZFS file system. So if your synology uses this file system, then you should be able to import your pool

Another question for you lovely bunch, Can truenas be launched from a PC with only a displayport gpu, I have a quddro 450 with 4 displayports and get no screen when I try and boot up?

The connectors on the gpu don't matter, only if the operating system has drivers for the gpu. A quddro 450 has been around for a long time so I don't suspect any problems there.

Are you using trunas scale or trunas core?

What happens exactly when you boot?

I got around it with a displayport to hdmi connector
