hi all building a new machine next week and i have priced the full system on here and other sites wel 2 others.

if i buy the whole system from teh other sites ist about £35 cheaper than ocuk, the reason i ask if they price mach is because i have used ocuk before and dont realy want to join another site but £35 is £35 and off a whole system which is about £850 would you think ocuk will price match ?

thanks

i do get free shipping but even with that it will cost me £35 more the other place charges you about £5 to free but i still would save £35 as its a £45 saving put i took of £10 for postage.

its strange how other companies can sell the stuff much cheaper i mean

Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz ocuk=£155 other place £145
Asus ATI Radeon HD 5770 ocuk=£124 other place £120
Fractal Design Define R2 ocuk=£93 other place £89
2 x Samsung SpinPoint F3 ocuk=£138 other place £126
Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B ocuk=£50 other place £43

this is the only stuff in the kit i can get cheaper and that adds up to £37 thats a lot, ts a shame as if they can not match it might have to get the full system over ther as there not much price difference between the other items but it just saves me joining another company

It all depends on what deals OCUK gets with its suppliers. On some lines other companies may get better deals that they can pass on to customers but on others they might not be able to match.Im sure that they also have a profit margin to maintain.
The company i work for has a minimum 25% per line otherwise they wont run it.If we get a price increase in the far east we put our price up now and make say 30% on the stock we currently have so when the new stock arrives its back to the 25%
Take the ATI 5*** series cards .They seem to have had more stock than a lot of other people on release date etc.Its swings an round abouts :)
Hopefully the competition will lead to decreases.

Poster above me is correct.

OCUK have a very good relationship with Sapphire Tech for example and usually have stock or more stock of new cards than competitors and at good prices.

For example the 5850 at £230 is a good price for a 5850 at the moment, granted it was £200 at launch it has been as high as £250 so they do change their prices often to reflect the market (for good and bad)

From looking at the competitors for better pricing, some things are cheaper, some things are more expensive but generally OCUK are there or there about and overall when buying serveral items OCUK are the cheaper.

Their customer services are also excellent (free shipping for forum dwellers!)

I just hope they continue to do well and keep the company's principles in about customer service and competitive pricing.

They do price match, but you have to call customer service. I sent them email with question. This is reply:

Thank you for your webnote, we can only price match one competitor at a time and both retailers must have the product in stock, if you would like to ask about price matching please give our sales team a call
