Hi

I was just curious if you recommend removing (cutting out) the case fan grill that would be say at the back of a case for exhaust fans . I am thinking at the moment its restricting some of the air flow , the holes might be a tad too small for the volume of air my 120mm fan is trying to pass through them . Remove the grill or drill larger holes perhaps ?
cheers
Martin

I removed the grilles on my last two cases. You avoid the turbulence of the air passing through the metal, plus airflow per rpm is increased so you can slow your fans a little too. Messes up your warranty of course and if you chop your fingers off you have no one to blame but yourself.

Use u channel moulding (they sell stuff for cars on eBay that works well) to cover the cut edges. Use snips to cut, a dremel, a metal coping saw or a 114mm hole saw (assume 120mm fan slots). Use a file to tidy up afterwards.
