I remember years ago when you would have to defrag your computer or perform a full system reset once a year. I have only done this once in 6 years and that was only because I had to move to Windows 10. I never really noticed my pc lag.

I am thinking of doing it when I buy a new system just because its a new system but other than that reason I can't think of any.

I did because I kept getting issues like webcam not working and the screen losing signal when doing certain tasks. Everything is kept on a secondary drive and because the primary is nvme a full reinstall took less than 30mins from install to having it fully setup with all drivers. Fixed all my issues and runs slightly quicker, win win.

I had the same OS install for like 7 years lol..

was a free upgrade to win 10 but the last update messed up my install somehow.

I noticed my harddisks were spinning up every 3-5 minutes and then last night both drives disapeared, windows disk manager showed them as "disk drive" but couldnt read the size or anything.

then my 2nd SSD disapeared....

bios could read all the drives fine no problems just windows couldn't...

I just finished reinstalling windows and after I enabled my storage drives again in the bios the new fresh install shows them fine.

I think windows corrupted intel rapid storage crap, I'm not going to install it this time
