I have always thought so as it needs a grounding point, however I have seen cases where the PSU is not screwed into the case. I ask because I need to relocate my PSU in an upcoming mod and am considering how this would be possible.

Fantastic! I was under the impression the PSU grounded into the PC chassis. So as long as it is secure, it's fine?

^ this as well, i just use the strap on my Lian Li, much handier than screws. If i top mounted the psu id have to use screws though.

ive seen peeps use those 3M velcro fastners on psu's as well, stick on on case other onpc and it should hold as they are rated for 15kg
