As above really.

I am a bit puzzled, with just one fan, ie; just half of a twin 92mm rad covered the temps are just 3C higher under load than with a 2nd fan fitted.

Is this some sort of law of diminishing returns?

It's to do with distance, pressure and CFM. I've been away for a while but I'm sure my sticky has some good links that are stilll relevant.

I'll have to review it....sometime.

The higher the static pressure of the case fan the better the cooling.

One reason why I'm just about to upgrade my rad fans to Yate Loon D12SL-12D's (120x38)

first of all do some google research to find out if your rad is designed for low/med/high cfm.

generally out of studies been done... a push pull configuration will give you a +20% performance over a single pull.. and a pull over shard would give you around 15%

generally a 20db 30-40cfm fan would be sufficient for normal cooling

I am using Xigmatek fans rheobused at 700rpm...
on full throttle 1500rpm 60cfm it does give me -2 degrees on temps but i prefer the low noise

hope these info helped you out a bit

Wow, shards of...glass? Aid in watercooling. You learn something new everyday!

Indeed it does, thank you. :)

I'll see what I can find out, now I've discovered one fan is so efficient the low noise is quite tempting.

oopss!! now i get you...

I should have written fan on shroud, sorry guys.

weescot.. are your greek as good as my english?
mm thought so!!

anyways.. feel free to correct me anytime

Wowsers! I never realised it was so technical.

I had a nose on the manufacturers website and couldn't see what fans it was optimised for, the rad is a Black Ice Extreme GTX 184. It's replaced a Black Ice GT Stealth 240 and is giving lower temps with less CFM fans.

I think I shall experiment a little and rig up my TBalancer Big NG and play with the pump speed and fan speeds a little and see what results.
