Hi everyone i have a HIS HD7950 ICQ Boost and it is running quit hot so far and i was thinking about re apply the thermal paste ( Arctic Silver 5) but im wondering if doing so will void my warranty ? Please Help!

Btw im stock and im getting about 85+ c under load, so what about you guys ? what kind of temp are you getting ?

Thank you

^^ But why not ? its the only thermal paste that i got at the moment :( and does it void warranty by re-pasting?

It's electrically conductive. Having said that, I've used it before on the GPU and been fine. YMMV.

Edit, sorry capacitive not conductive. Have a look at the AS5 product page.

Now im getting scared because i used it on my CPU (2600K) now im afraid that i can ruin it

Ok what about This then : NOCTUA NT-H1 THERMALPASTE or INNOVATION COOLING DIAMOND 7 CARAT? i can get them to my local retailer tomorrow :)

buy some mx4 paste

if theres no sticker over the cooler screws then they won't know you've removed it;)

Yeah but here i cant find it on local retailer the only one i found available here in cyprus is the one i have stated ^^

its fine on your cpu,but not on a graphic card as the die is exposed so you need non conductive paste (well its safer)

google those two you mentioned to see if they are non conductive,i think the noctua paste is not sure on the other

how hot is it in Cyprus? if ambient temps are high your gpu will run hotter ect 85c isn't that bad tbh

Is quit Hot here i got to admit (35-39) during the day and about 25 at night so i wanted to minimize to chance of the card to get hot by applying some good thermal past in a hope to reduce a bit the heat.

it might reduce it a few degrees idk,but if its hot weather its to be expected

can still try and see if it makes a difference, can also leave off your case's side panel, that will lower temps a bit

But i have done some reading and apparently AS5 is do not conduce electricity ... but i wll take you advice into account. However i will like to know your opinion about the noctua and Diamond 7 thermal paste stated above because they are the only one i can get from here without paying extra 25Uk Pound to get MX-4 shipped to me from OCuK

arctic silver has actual silver in it I think?

"Arctic Silver 5 uses three unique shapes and sizes of 99.9% pure silver particles to maximize particle-to-particle contact area and thermal transfer."

silver and electric = bang

noctua is a good paste

^yep, it's good paste but widely regarded as quite obsolete these days with better performing non conductive pastes on the market.
