Do side case fans really make a difference?

Just wondering, I have a coolermaster HAF922 case and theres room for 2 120mm side fans on the case.

I just wondering if I need to spend money on some side fans and would it make a difference to cooling say...my gfx card?

Does the difference in temp warrant the money spent?

i dont have side fans, i dont have any temp problems, just good cable management and good air flow

Sometimes it messes the airflow, causing a rise in temps, sometimes it actually helps a lot. If possible maybe try find some spare fans and experiment with it?

Yes, i have a HAF X, with all the fans linked to a fan controller. When i turn the side fan down, the GFX fan will work that bit more to cool my GTX 570

Ill have a dig around my old cases to have a look for a suitable fan!

all i need is a new psu and i have enough spare parts to make a new bloody PC!

My side fan keeps the GPU a fair bit cooler, and is it's much quieter than the GPU fan it cuts the noise under load down too.
