do sky VDSL use ipv6

because i do believe it will improve my down streaming .i got a mac address but know ip address on ipv6 ?

Yes Sky routers, well, everything from the white Hub 1 uses ipv6

Using IPv6 is unlikely to improve your streaming performance.

The TP Link should pick up everything it needs automatically once the setting is turned on.

It won't improve your speeds and latency in any way, it's just preparing you when the entire net moves to ipv6 due to ipv4 being very close to running out.

Looking at the manual, go to Advanced -> Network -> Internet, modify the WAN connection, scroll down to ipv6 and tick the box to enable. Click save and then reboot the router. Give it a while and when the internet comes back up it should have an ipv6 address.

The default settings should work, on my Asus RT-AC68U I left all the ipv6 settings on default, apart from the DNS settings (didn't want to use my ISP's ones).

You can literally search "my ip" in Google to show your current IP, I found some IP checkers can only report ipv4 addresses, possibly due to not being updated for ipv6.
