Do super large gaming mats warp?

I'm looking at getting one of those super large gaming surfaces to put under my keyboard and mouse, Now I was wondering if these large ones can warp and become out of shape over time? As an alternative I was looking at just using a large thin piece of aluminium or plastic.
 
Not through normal use, though I've put a crease in one running it through the washing machine to clean it. Just too big to fit in without it ending up folded.
 
Got a boogie mat here, for washing i just rinse it out in the bath and fold it over a luke warm radiator to dry. No problems with creasing so far. It fits my g15 rev 1 kb and mouse ok, but i see that ocuk have an even larger one that would leave more mouse room.
 
Okay, seems like they are good enough, will be easier and probably a better surface than aluminium or plastic so I'll probably go with the overclockers one
