Do these core temps look OK?

Another BF3 related Q. Got it on Friday & haven't had any really long sessions, just for about an hour at a time and almost immediately the temps jump up to about 71 on all four cores with load around 50-60%.

Given my system specs in my sig, does this seems about right? The game's auto-detect puts all my gfx settings on Ultra but I've knocked it down to high for smoother gameplay.

Just thinking should I get some thermal paste and reapply since its three years since I bought this system & haven't replaced the original paste.

Thanks.

Its Arctic Freezer 7, inside an Antec 1200 case. I don't really use all the additional vans probably to their optimum as it can get very loud.

Playing BF3 earlier, temps were much the same at around the 70 mark but load on all cores was in the 80s%.

From my experience the temps seem alright for the amount of load. Though i am unsure whether that game should cause that much load. I have heard it utilies a lot of CPU though i wasn't expecting 80%.

If you are concerned maybe take the CPU coolers off an put it back on (with new Thermal paste, if you have any).

RJC's advice is good as well;

I noticed in BF3 i'm getting 95% cpu load on all 4 cores, and only 55% gpu usage on both my 6850s :/

CPU load isn't an issue for me though, 41 degrees under load is pretty neat <3 haf932

Which CPU are you using and what is it clocked to?

Not tempted to overclock it? :)

I used to have one of these 955's, their is a way to overclock it to 3.4GHz without having to increase the CPU voltage, all I did in the motherboard bios was up the CPU--NB Vid by 0.1v to get the system stable. ;)

You might not need to even do that with your motherboard as I was using a Gigabyte 790FXT-UD5P.

If you got one of the 125W editions, then I would just clock it to 3.8GHz / 4GHz if you can. ;)

I actually had it at stable 4.00ghz this morning, at 1.4 volts.. However I wasn't noticing any performance increase in BF3 so i just bumped it back down to stock :/

It's a great chip, I'll overclock it back up when i need that extra boom :D Now I just need to find out why BF3 multiplayer is only using up 55% of my GPUs :(

Nice, I was just wondering if your GPU usage increased by a significant amount when clocked that was all. :)

At least the AMD Phenom 955 plays BF3 at stock well. :)

Yeah I was hoping GPU usage would shoot up too :p

I seemed to have this issue with BC2 multiplayer also, would get great GPU usage in singleplayer, terrible in MP... Makes no sense to me :(

I'm still fairly new to the whole multi gpu thing
