As title suggests, I wanted to pick up a few older games for the wife that she used to enjoy but wasn't sure if they would run.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate Edition as I do very little gaming on my PC as it's mostly for business.

-Zoo Tycoon 2 (Ultimate Collection)
-Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 (Deluxe Edition)
-Anno 1404 (Gold Edition)
-Titan Quest (Gold Edition)

I've seen mixed reviews as to whether or not they work but few mention what version of OS they have etc so was looking for confirmation from someone running it the same as me.

I picked up RCT3 Platinum off steam. Works fine on my win 7 x64 pc.

Only problem was resolution, it wouldn't go high enough in the menu, so i had to change the text file.

They should do, If the case is not, you can always use compatibility mode to improve the chance?

Wasn't sure what Compatibility mode was like on Win 7. I remember a few old games like Prem Man 98 running OK in the Xp compatibility mode but every now and then the screen would go crazy and you had to minimise it to sort it out.

Mind you, all these games cost next to nothing now so no big deal if they are not perfect. She doesn't game much but just likes to jump on her old favorites like these, AoE and Resident Evil now and then.

I have more confidence if it's at least available on Steam. Zoo Tycoon isn't so wasn't sure on that one but did see RCT3 on there last night so maybe i'll just get that one downloaded then order ZT2 on Amazon to try.

I've only played TQ as TQIT (i.e. with the expansion) but I assume that's what comes in the 'gold' edition so should be fine.

Yes that's right, the Gold edition is just both in one box so good to know they both work OK.

I've played Anno 1404 on W7 x64 in the past

Thanks, good to know.
So seems like everything should be fine then.

I expect to come across the odd little issue but sure I can sort it out myself or with help from the forum. Just read some horror stories of people messing about for days trying to get older games to run and I couldn't be bothered with that.
