For visiting the olympic park?
Do u need to buy tickets in advance for..

This is the closest thing I can see on the London 2012 website:
"Olympic Park day pass
An Olympic Park day pass allows you to see any sport in the Olympic Park, other than Athletics, Cycling or Swimming and some finals. Day passes allow you general admission entry to sports on a first come, first served basis and are subject to availability."
So it seems you have to buy a day pass to access the Olympic park if you want to get in, I dont think you can get in without a ticket of some sort.
In fact just found this:

Yeah you can see all the sports on the big screens that will be in the Olympic Park

Day pass does not guarantee you into any sport. It will allow you into the park to watch the big screens, but on a day by day basis a day pass may let you in to some selected events, if, most likely any of the cheapest seats are still free. As they say there will be no day tickets from August 3rd onwards. The London 2012 website is not the best in getting clear information though, its were I got the info in my original post, and both pieces of information near enough contradict each other!

****. Trying to get an Olympic Park ticket but NOTHING available on any days. 
Just gonna have to go after the events I suppose. There was me thinking going to 3 events would be enough although none of them are in the Park.

And the joke of it all is that most of the evenst i have watched on tv, only half the stadium is full.
Swimming, gymastics and now the boxing. wtf?

Yep, apparently they seem to be sponsored seats. Lord Coe has said he might name and shame the companies.
**** innit. especially when i bloody work with visa in my day job and us lot never got no tickets from them
