hello all

just a quick question, i have to displays here a nec 20wgx and eizo l565 and was wandering do we really need to install the drivers and if so why?

Thanks

installing the drivers means windows knows which resolutions, colour depths and refresh rates to allow apart from that it makes little difference

but really it doesnt affect the performance of the display or how the gpu communicated with the display.

its not really crucial!

As Blitz said above. I just recently bought two 19" Hanns Widescreens and I couldn't get the correct res of 1440x900 until I installed those drivers. With a normal sized screen, say a 17-19" non widescreen you could probably get away with it since your OS will already have the correct resolution for those built in.

I've never even looked at those ICM profiles. Not a clue what those are about.

Unless you have a Hyundai, where in my case the drivers for the monitor prevent me from using its native res, just great ....
