Do wireless headsets require drivers to function?

Hi all,

I want to buy a wireless gaming headset which will be used with my personal computer for gaming and with my work laptop for making calls (listening to audio and talk with people).
When it comes to my personal computer I have no questions- I can freely install whatever driver I wish on it.
My concern is the work laptop- I am pretty sure that the IT people of my company will not allow me to install any drivers that come with the headset.

As far as I can see there are two types of connectivity for headsets- Wireless (2.4 GHz for example) and Bluetooth.
I am currently using a pair of Bluetooth headphones which unfortunatelly don't have a microphone attached to them. It is really easy to connect them to the work laptop- all I need is eneble bluetooth on it and they get paired.

I really want to get one of these gaming headsets that come with a microphone attached and sticking out of them.
My question is- if I were to get a Wireless 2.4 GHz gaming headset (for instance ARCTIS 7P+ WIRELESS) would it work properly with my work laptop if no drivers were installed? I do realize that I will lose some of the benefits that come with the software and drivers but on my work laptop all I will need is to be able to listen to people and talk to them.

Many thanks,
Julian.

There are no drivers for that headset, just a USB dongle. Only your I.T dept will know if it is allowable or not, entirely depends on their security protocols.

I would imagine it is fine though.
