Do you add anything to your Weetabix?

Sparked a heated debate here whereby I was told anything but plain/dry Weetabix is a sin when I said I chopped bananas and grapes into mine then threw in hot whole milk.

It's a flavour explosion like the world has never seen before. The grapes especially as they're chopped so slowly release flavour and then you bite into one

Oh if you have an underlying condition then yeah I agree. But just having them won't cause you any problems, I am proof of this having had them my entire life :p

It genuinely takes no effort to cut fruit, grapes are sliced in half with a short paring knife against my thumb, bananas slice like butter anyway and I can slice one up in seconds the same way and lob the slices in the bowl

How do you even spread butter on Weetabix without it breaking apart?!

Also adding milk with buttered Weetabix??

Edit*
Oh no milk. Still sick!

Yes, doesn't mean I chomp on biscuits all day long lol. I dunk a couple biscuits in tea once or twice a day. I could eat an entire pack in one sitting though and have no effect from it.

Just pointing out the contradiction other's choice on sugar while you have a massive jar of biscuits that's all.

.
How is this relevant? Having a jar of biscuits on a kitchen table is somehow the same as eating lots of sugar! You've chosen the wrong argument to make today lol.

A couple mentions of honey/syrup types, I will have to try this tomorrow. Always used them on French toast but never cereal. This might be a game changer.

Not really relevant to what you put on the Weetabix obviously, just pointing out the hypocrisy of you are telling someone "Don't eat sugar! it's bad for you" while chomping through a packet of biscuits.

Moving on.

The full context of what I said was to cut out the sugar (which we can assume is standard processed sugar) and replace it with nature's sugar which is actually better.

A biscuit is a biscuit and has no relation to this thread'. I can eat one biscuit or 50, makes no difference to my health and is out of context with the topic really.

Can;'t seem to like any cereal except Cornflakes/Frosties with cold milk. Don't know what it is but the crunch on Cornflakes and Frosties is just nicer with cold milk whereas everything else feels infinitely better with hot milk.

Sultanas, yes! I have those in a jar for smoothies, never thought of putting into Weetabix.

Is weetabix with water some Northern thing? The only person I know who does it is from Cheshire.
Thus my sample is based on one person.

Never met anyone who has any cereal with water, to be honest milk is tasteless anyway largely, but milk has texture/thickness which water does not so I can't imagine how flimsy watered cereal must taste :(

Just cold Milk. Never thought of putting hot milk on it.

Try it once, it really unlocks flavour.

Anything that doesn’t require proper cooking, like a full English.

Thing like cereals, oats, breads, bars.

Smoothie. Buy a Nultri bullet ninja off Amazon and you're good to go with basic ingredients you may already have around the house.

My smoothies are nearly 1000 calories per smoothie and are all good quality calories too. This is what I have on days when I don't want to cook but can quickly hash up a meal's worth in smoothie form:

2 tablespoons of 100% natural peanut butter
2 tablespoons of berry/nut mix granola
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of flax seeds
1 banana (or chop up any other fruit you like)
1 tablespoon of organic Spirulina powder
1 tablespoon of pure MCT oil
300ml of milk

That will be around 1000 calories and keeps my belly full until the next meal so no need for dirty snacks in-between. The MCT oil has immediate energy and cognitive benefits as well as being absorbed immediately by the body for burning fat cells as fuel which is useful for those who want/need to eat many calories, but also want to control bodyfat.

More than 2 per bowl is too much for my liking,. It becomes too thick unless you add more milk which then ends up nearly brimming both my bowls especially if you're putting chopped fruits and things in!

Sorry but that sounds like absolute bro science, and probably would have a negligible effect on anyone not doing a ketogenic diet. The only real correlation between calories and bodyfat is the quantity in the food, not much else.

Happy to be proven wrong with credible sources however.

As for Weetabix, just some oat milk and a teaspoon of sweetener. :D

There are plenty of solo sources online. First one that springs to mind: https://www.webmd.com/diet/mct-oil-health-benefits-common-uses#1

I don't need to lose any weight, but the extra energy it offers before a workout is useful. It's true that not enough gathered data exists in terms of a study as it's not been studied for very long, and like most things healthy eating related, it will obviously come down to your individual body type, metabolism, general fitness and goals etc. I use it for the extra energy benefits for a workout mostly. For me I tend to have not enough water most days so a spoon of MCT in whatever I eat that morning keeps me thirsting for water throughout the day too so I kind of have to have a cold drink.
