Because if it is your car, then what is the point? Its the same as going to the supermarket every day and buying a small amount of food (in a world where food remains fresh for years).

Driving around with less weight? Especially if it's not used much and fuel lasts a while?

Also, poll needs a sometimes option. Sometimes I brim it, sometimes I don't. Depends on my mood/bank balance.

I personally don't like the way the car feels when weighed down with a full tank. It's like, you know, heavier. Like having people sitting in the back.

i dont do a lot of miles so for me not brimming the tank is not really an issue.

The main reason i dont brim the tank is because of the extra weight, i average 30 litres when i top up and the tank can take 55 so i consider the gain over dragging around the extra weight more beneficial then the time I lose filling up more often (fyi i fill up around once every 2 weeks or so)

I have nothing against brimming the tank, not doing it however doesnt have a big enough impact for me to switch to brimming it.

Yes I brim it, for the same reason I go to the supermarket once a week and buy 4 pints of milk as part of a weekly shop, rather than go to the supermarket every other day after work and buy 1 pint at a time.

This may be of some use.

Given that my car holds 50 litres max and it weighs only 36.5Kg, I doubt it will make a noticeable difference to my economy if I start only half filling my tank.

Normally, unless I am on the way home on the motorway and need petrol. I know back home is 10p per gallon cheaper and only say 100miles from home. I'll put in enough and a little bit more to get home and then fill up next time. There is no need to pay over the odds.

Otherwise, if it's only a small difference i'll just fill it up.

I brim it unless the station I have ended up at has unusually high prices. I keep track of MPG with road trip and it won't work unless you brim the tank often.

Last night got forced to use a station that was selling at 1.42(derv) so only put £10, on the way home tonight I will fill again at the local esso which normally tracks just above the Brighton Marina Asda.

Full tank lasts around 10 days at around 660miles range.

I fill up until it clicks. Then fill it up some more until I get to £XX.00 or £XX.50, but most of the times it's £XX.01 or £XX.51

There was a time where I tried to brim it and it spewed all over me.

I fill both tanks on my Scania to the brim, although due to the anti-syphon device in the neck, it's never literally to the brim as such (and this stops spillages killing bikers!!)

In the car, rarely fill it over half, as that will last a couple of weeks of my limited use of it. :)
